Dr. Sonya Patel is a doctor of acupuncture and Chinese medicine and is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed by Texas State Board of Medical
Examiners. She completed her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) in San Francisco with an emphasis on the use of acupuncture for pain management and women’s health in hospitals. Dr. Patel completed a residency at Memorial Hermann and clinics in Africa and China. Dr. Patel has been practicing medicine for 23 years.
Her hospital affiliations include: MD Anderson & Memorial Sloan- Kettering. Dr. Patel also works with area hospitals including Texas Children’s Hospital, Memorial Hermann/TIRR,
Veterans Affair Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, and MD Anderson. She has been working with Veterans Affairs conducting research since 2002 and is a part of the Community Care Network with the VA to
treat veterans. Dr. Patel also a Community Advisory board member for Memorial Herman Sugar Land and Southwest hospitals.
